Movie-to-Video (or DVD)

8mm, Super 8, Super 8 Sound and 16mm Sound and Silent movies can all be transferred to VHS, SVHS or DVD. Pricing is based on viewing time. (A 3 inch reel – 50 feet – of 8mm or Super 8 film is approximately 3 minutes.) Film reels of all sizes should be numbered for appearance order on the video or DVD. You do not need to splice or unsplice the film. You will get your original films back.

Please note that film is always transferred to tape before DVD copies are made, which allows the editing-in of titles and music as requested. We recommend that if you expect to want a DVD copy now or in the future that the film be transferred to SVHS tape, as SVHS has a higher resolution for future copying purposes.

Turnaround Time for Film Transfer

• January – September: allow 2-3 weeks + 1 additional week when requesting chaptered DVD
• October – December: allow at least 4 weeks + 1 additional week when requesting chaptered DVD
